Tips to keep showing up

Updated: May 8, 2023

We all know that working out is good for us - it improves our physical health, boosts our mood, and helps us feel more energized and focused. But sometimes, finding the motivation to actually show up for our fitness classes can be a challenge. Whether it's a lack of energy, a busy schedule, or simply a lack of enthusiasm, we've all been there. But the good news is that with a little bit of effort and creativity, you can find the inspiration you need to get moving and stick to your fitness routine. In this post, I'll share some easy motivation and tips to keep showing up for your classes and achieve your fitness goals. So let's dive in!

Set achievable goals: Setting achievable goals is a great way to stay motivated. Whether it's a specific number of classes you want to attend each week or a target weight or fitness level you want to reach, having a clear goal in mind will help you stay focused and motivated. And don't go crazy either! Make a SMALL achievable goal and once you've achieved that, start a new one on top of that! For example. Let's say you want to workout every day. That's a lot if you haven't been working out regularly. Start with a goal of "for the month of August, I'm going to take 2 classes a week. Then in September, I'll up it to 3" Get it?

Create a schedule: Creating a schedule that works for you is crucial. If you're not a morning person, signing up for early morning classes might not be the best idea. On the other hand, if you have a super busy schedule, you might want to start the day with an early morning workout. Otherwise it won't happen! Figure out a time that works for you and schedule it. Don't let anything get in the way too! Schedule around your classes whenever you can.

Find a workout buddy: Working out with a friend can be a great way to stay motivated. Not only can you push each other to work harder, but you'll also have someone to hold you accountable if you're feeling tempted to skip a class. Plus, it's always more fun to work out with a friend!

Mix it up: Doing the same workout over and over can quickly become boring. To keep things fresh and exciting, try mixing up your routine. Attend different classes on different days. Switch up the playlist if you are working out at home or going for a run. Change the scenery for your daily walks. Listen to a new podcast. Variety not only keeps YOU interested, but it also keeps your body guessing what's next!

Remember why you started: Whenever you're feeling unmotivated, take a moment to remind yourself why you started in the first place. Whether it's to improve your health, boost your mood, or achieve a specific fitness goal, keeping your reasons for working out at the forefront of your mind will help you stay motivated and committed.

By following these simple tips, you'll be well on your way to finding the motivation you need to show up for your fitness classes and achieve your goals. So what are you waiting for? Lace up your sneakers, grab your water bottle, and let's get moving!
