How Sugar & Processed Foods Impact Your Health Podcast

Unless you've been living under a rock lately, chances are you've caught wind of my recent obsession with the Huberman Lab podcast and my quest to cut down on sugar – the sneaky ingredient found in practically everything. I couldn't help but share this particular podcast episode on my blog, and trust me, it's a game-changer.

We address the “calories in- calories out” (CICO) model of metabolism and weight regulation and how specific macronutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates), fiber and sugar can modify the CICO equation.

Let me give you the lowdown on the Huberman Lab podcast – "Dr. Huberman dives into science and practical tools for everyday life." What makes it stand out? Well, he breaks down complex concepts into layman's terms, making it a breeze to understand. Whether it's backed by solid case studies or still in the gray area, he's transparent about it. Sure, there are a few ads, but they're worth every second of your time.

Now, let's talk about the episode that rocked my world. Brace yourself, because it will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about sugar. I was convinced I had my sugar intake under control – no desserts, no sugary snacks. Little did I know, I was falling for the "healthy" snacks with sneaky zero-calorie sweeteners. Total shocker!

This episode is replete with actionable information about sugar and metabolism, weight control, brain health and body composition.

Cut to me reevaluating my snack choices and making conscious efforts to slash my sugar consumption. The result? Feeling fantastic, a few pounds lighter without even trying, and purposeful indulgence in sugar when it's truly worth it (such as my electrolyte drink, perhaps the occasional dessert, or maybe my protein powder if I feel like it).

This episode is a must-listen, but I get it – it's a bit lengthy. Here's a tip: throw it on in the car during short drives or play it while tackling chores. Trust me; it's worth every minute. Give it a go and join me in this eye-opening journey. Happy listening! 🎧
